Crypto Signal Win Rates: Complete Calls, Trades and Missing Outcomes
Reconcile a fictional instruction population without turning cancellations, missing events or repeated messages into invented trade results.
Fictional examples, declared assumptions, no connected accounts.
Name the unit being counted
A setup, message, order, fill and completed trade are related but distinct. Ten messages may describe fewer setups because of updates. One accepted order may have several fills. A reviewer should define the unit before calculating a percentage. Preserve stable identifiers and links between objects instead of deduplicating by attractive prices or assuming every message describes another opportunity.
A headline win rate needs a stated eligible population, resolved outcomes, period and outcome convention. It also needs an explanation of incomplete or cancelled entries. A large count with missing definitions is not automatically stronger evidence than a small transparent record. A percentage cannot establish position size, account return, maximum drawdown or how a subscriber actually entered and exited. Those questions require other records.
Finish a fictional population reconciliation
All records in this case are invented. A fixed observation period contains 12 original setups: four have positive declared hypothetical outcomes, three negative outcomes, one zero outcome, two were cancelled before entry and two remain unresolved. Twelve is the complete setup count. Eight have resolved hypothetical outcomes. The other four must remain visible; their absence from the completed-outcome calculation needs an explanation rather than a silent deletion.
Under the explicitly declared convention that a win means a positive resolved outcome and zero outcomes remain in that denominator, the resolved-outcome win proportion is 4/8, or 50%. Four of the 12 original setups have a positive resolved outcome, but 4/12 is a different coverage statement, not the same win-rate definition. Treating both as equivalent would hide the distinction between performance convention and population completeness.
Explain what unresolved records change
The two unresolved setups could affect a later completed-outcome statistic. Until their evidence arrives, do not predict their signs. Cancelled-before-entry instructions also require a declared rule and retained original timestamps; they are not automatically losses or successes. The illustrative percentage is conditional on the supplied records and convention, not an independently reconciled real provider record.
If one cancelled setup actually entered before the cancellation arrived, the subscriber population can differ from the publisher population. Link message and account evidence rather than rewriting one to match the other. A comparison can report that the two populations cannot presently be reconciled. That is more informative than filling the gaps with the source's favoured level or assuming every follower acted at publication.
Keep amounts and capital out of a hit-rate shortcut
Four small positive outcomes and three larger negative outcomes can produce a negative sum even with a positive win proportion. Conversely, a lower win proportion need not imply a negative sum. To examine amounts, obtain the price/quantity conventions and all relevant costs. To examine account return, obtain account capital, cashflows, concurrent exposure and valuation. A raw sum of per-call percentages is not automatically a compounded capital return.
For a separate fictional arithmetic illustration, four positive outcomes of 2 Q total 8 Q and three negative outcomes of 4 Q total negative 12 Q; one zero adds nothing. The sum is negative 4 Q before any additional charges. The completed example has the same 4/8 win proportion as above but a negative amount. The point is a definition check, not a model recommendation or invented live history.
Retain chronology and source scope
Save first versions, authorised amendments, receipt times and the declared completion rule. A screenshot after the outcome is not a consecutive original archive. A timestamp can help establish covered bytes by a bound, but not identify missing setups outside the presented sample. A named independent report should specify its covered account or model and supplied period; source summaries do not automatically extend its conclusion to every later product.
The finished classroom record keeps all 12 setups, distinguishes their eight resolved outcomes and preserves the two cancelled and two unresolved cases. Another reader can reproduce both the percentage and amount example from declared units. For an actual provider, the exact original population and evidence are still required. Neither this teaching packet nor correct software arithmetic certifies profitability or substitutes for independent strategy validation.
| Object | Supplied teaching record | Bounded conclusion |
|---|---|---|
| Original setups | 12 | Complete fictional population |
| Positive / negative / zero | 4 / 3 / 1 | 8 resolved hypothetical outcomes |
| Cancelled / unresolved | 2 / 2 | Retained outside declared resolved denominator |
| Resolved-outcome win proportion | 4 / 8 | 50% under specified convention |
| Illustrative amount sum | 4 x 2 - 3 x 4 | -4 Q before other charges |
